Help UAE Compliance Teams See Risk Before It Hits

Beady turns more than 100,000 public sources into clear, source-linked risk signals that compliance, legal and investment teams, from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, rely on every day. We’re a small team, and we’re always happy to meet people who want to build it with us.
What we’re building

A continuous risk intelligence platform. It screens companies and people against sanctions lists, starting with the UAE Local Terrorist List, plus court records, adverse media and social sources. It removes about 95% of the noise and gives the analyst a ranked, source-linked report in a couple of minutes. Then it keeps watching, every day.

Real customers, real regulators and real consequences, whether we get it right or wrong.

What we’re building
How we work

Small team, short loops. Everyone owns a part of the product end to end, from the data source to the pixel the analyst sees. We ship every week and talk to customers directly.

We judge ourselves on one thing: did a real risk get caught earlier than it would have been otherwise?

How the Beady team works
Who we’re looking for

People who are curious about how risk hides in public data and impatient to fix it. Engineers who enjoy messy real-world sources. ML and NLP people who care about precision. Analysts who know what a compliance desk actually needs. And people on the commercial side who can explain all of this in one sentence.

Working English is a must, and Arabic is a real plus. A compliance background helps, but it isn’t required.

Who we’re looking for

Open Roles

Backend Engineer · Data Collection

Everything Beady does starts with the pipelines that pull from more than 100,000 public sources: company registries, court and enforcement records, sanctions lists and watchlists, news and social media. You’d own the part that keeps them running, complete and up to date.

What you’d do

  • Build and maintain collectors for registries, court systems, regulators, sanctions lists and media
  • Keep sources alive when they change format, rate-limit or simply go down
  • Design storage and indexing for hundreds of millions of entities and their documents
  • Make every record traceable back to the page it came from

What we look for

  • Strong Python (or Go / Java) and SQL, and comfortable with queues, schedulers and distributed workers
  • Real experience with large-scale crawling or ETL, and with messy, inconsistent data
  • You care about getting it right: a record we miss isn’t a bug, it’s a compliance failure

Most of what a name search brings back is noise. Our job is to remove about 95% of it without ever losing the one hit that matters. This role owns that balance.

What you’d do

  • Match entities across spellings, transliterations and aliases in dozens of languages, including Arabic names written in Latin script
  • Train and evaluate models that tell a real hit from a coincidence: same name, different person
  • Classify adverse media by relevance, severity and how credible the source is
  • Own the metrics: false positives are expensive, false negatives are unacceptable

What we look for

  • Production NLP and ML, not only notebooks
  • Experience with entity resolution, record linkage, NER or search relevance
  • Multilingual text and non-Latin scripts, Arabic especially, are a strong plus

Someone has to know where the data really lives, how far it can be trusted and what a finding actually means. That’s this role.

What you’d do

  • Map and prioritise new public sources: registries, courts, regulators, law enforcement and media
  • Define what a confirmed hit looks like for each source, and where that source stops being reliable
  • Check system output against manual research and pass the gaps back to the ML team
  • Shape the method behind our reports so they hold up in an audit

What we look for

  • Hands-on OSINT, investigative, due diligence or AML research experience
  • Comfortable reading primary sources in more than one language, ideally English and Arabic
  • Precise and sceptical, and able to explain why a finding is real, or why it isn’t

We build for compliance officers, so we want one on the inside: someone who has run the checks, signed off the files and knows exactly where the process hurts.

What you’d do

  • Turn AML, KYC, KYB and sanctions requirements into product decisions
  • Work with customers’ compliance teams on how they screen, review and record decisions
  • Shape reports and audit trails so they answer the questions a regulator like the CBUAE, DFSA or FSRA actually asks
  • Support the team on demos and on the difficult customer questions

What we look for

  • Experience in a compliance, AML or due diligence role at a bank, fintech, fund or law firm, ideally in the UAE
  • Working knowledge of the main sanctions regimes, including UAE targeted financial sanctions, and of screening practice
  • Able to write clearly for regulators and for engineers
